How to do engineering management for injection mould manufacturing projects? The process of doing engineering management includes below 7 steps:

*Design (DFM & Mold flow, 2D&3D tool design)

*Manufacturing following (weekly report)

*Mould trials

*Mold modification & Correction

*Final inspection before shipping

*Mould packing (Vacuum packing )

*Shipping (Air, Sea or Train)

With customers' parts drawing (2D/3D model), DFM discussion documents, mould flow results and specification, there will be a kick off meetings with designers, engineers and production manager together to learn all the information to make sure fully understanding of customer’s demands. After having customers’ final data, designers make DFMs firstly to show information of parting line, runner, gate, sliders/lifters and problems like undercuts, wall thickness, sink mark and so on. After approval, they start the 2D layout & Mold flow&3D mold drawing. We order steel at once after mold design got approved from customers.

Weekly report will be provided every Monday after ordering steel. There will be time schedule and material/ moulds photos, so that customers can see and have good control of the manufacturing process. If more information is needed, we can provide photos& videos every two days as extra information.

Over 99% molds & parts made in Suntime mould have very timely delivery and even shipping in advance if customers needed. T1 date on time is a must in Suntime, after T1, we work tightly with customers for correction/ modification, to make the next trials very fast. For mold trials, we send trial report with mold photos, samples photos, short shot photo, weight photo, moulding issues and our solutions.  Meanwhile, Moulding video, inspection report and moulding parameter will be provided as fast as possible after. With customers’ approval to send samples, we send parts by express under Suntime's account.

After Mold trails, we make corrections according to issues we have found and get customers approval for any changes. Sometimes, T1 parts are very good, but customers want to do changes in parts, our designers and engineers will check and give our professional idea about it, after communication with customers and having approval, we will start to do the modification at once.

Normally, second trial will happen within 3~7 days. And for normal projects, we control mold trials within 1~3 times before mold shipping.

When samples get approved, we will prepare the final data for this tooling project in a memory stick including final 2D&3D mould design, BOM, certifications, components and moulds details' photos (like electrical connectors, water fittings, core and cavity, shot counter, lift strap etc) and any other requested information. At the same time, our production workers and engineers will clean molds and do double check based on our mould delivery checking list before packing. The check list have all the details and customers' requests so that we can inspect all according to it and make sure customers can have the moulds that they wanted. Suntime will use vacuum packing or anti-rust paper for transportation, we will use grease oil on the surface according to customers requests and transportation method (air, sea or train).

When we have approval to prepare mold delivery, our engineers will copy the final data including final 2D&3D mould design, BOM, certifications, components and moulds details' photos (like electrical connectors, water fittings, core and cavity, shot counter, lift strap etc) and any other requested information in a memory stick, together, there will be a data list paper, mould spare parts and some electrodes, etc,.

If the molds stay in our factory for production, they will be kept and maintained well in Suntime. Whenever there is production demand from customers, we can arrange it as soon as possible and do plastic injection molding work in house. We repair customers' moulds and do regular maintenance for free.

Strict IQC inspection guarantee all materials to be qualified enough (steel, copper and resin certification/ Rohs can be provided accordingly). When do production, we make sure the first part qualified and make the production have stable quality. IPQC will help good control during manufacturing. OQC is the last step before shipping, our engineers and QC colleagues will make sure that parts are qualified enough and packing are strong enough before transportation.

For transportation including air shipping, sea shipping, train shipping and express shipping, we arrange transportation and do related packing according to customers requests and work tightly with customers' forwarders. And if customers want to use our forwarders, we also have very professional partners to help exporting & importing for many years.
